The Protektor Back is a trademark Stuller exclusive product designed to provide the most secure earring back option available in the market today.  The design provides for an easy securing and removal in and from the ear.  It is available in a variety of precious metals that include gold, platinum, and sterling silver.  The protektor back is produced in our manufacturing facility in Lafayette, Louisiana utilizing state-of-the-art robotics and techniques.Let's take a more detailed look at the processes utilized in the production of Stuller's Protektor Back.

Stuller's in-house manufacturing facilities provides the precious metal components of the Protektor Back.  It all begins in our metal fabrication graining room where both new and recycled metals are melted to produce the round grain.  To assure the utmost quality throughout the process a sample of the melt is sent to our state-of-the-art assay laboratory to verify metal composition.  After the results of the sample are verified, the metals are sent to our concast room for casting.  As indicated earlier another assay sample is pulled at this stage verifying the composition of the metal. Once verified our metal fabrication sheet division initiates the rolling and slitting process to produce the final gauge and finished stock of the sheet metal.  The forming processes of the Protektor Back components are now set to begin in our die striking facilities.

Stuller manufacturing utilizes the latest technology in all die striking operations. The forming process of the three precious metal protector back components are processed utilizing Feco automated presses and power presents.  The Feco presses are operated simultaneously to produce the top and bottom parts of the Protektor Back. The trigger spring mechanism component of the Protektor Back is produced utilizing the power press.  After the completion of the forming the components are then tumbled achieving a high polished finish.  In the case of 14-karat white product, the rhodium plating process is performed.  Once the components have been plated, they are then processed utilizing a state-of-the-art robotic assembly unit.  There are seven individual components contained in the Protektor Back product.  This highly advanced robotic system used to assemble these components are produced at a rate of one every 15 seconds.  After the components are assembled, random samples from each run are tested for pressure accuracy and stability.

As you can see placing and removing the Protektor Back is easy to maneuver.  Coupled with the comfort, style, and durability the Protektor Back essentially sells itself to the consumer.  In addition you are rest assured that Stuller maintains a quality control throughout the production process, thereby assuring that the Stuller quality standards, the highest in the industry, are achieved.
